I am happy with my straight stitched stars now and would recommend them to anyone who has finished the strips and can't bear the thought of cross stitching 50 stars.
Thanks to the SAL, I was able to stick with this project until it was done. To see what others in the group are stitching: Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, Sue, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Megan, Deborah, Mary Margaret, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, Connie, AJ, Jenny, Laura, Cathie, Linda, Helen

Yey! Well done for finishing this huge piece. It deserves to be on display rather than half finished in a drawer doesn't it? Your solution for the stars is perfect. Looking forward to your next project :-)
A finish! Yay! I love how those stars look in the close up.
whoop whoop enjoy your happy dance! Your project looks so beautiful, can't wait to see what you work on next xx

This was an epic project, happy dancing with you! Can't wait to see what you tackle next!
Hooray!!! I actually love the way the stars look, I think they look more bold that way. (Or, um, technically the stripes are bold, the stars are bright, eh?) Beautiful work on such a huge piece!
The stars looks great!
Happy dance! It' very beautiful!

Happy dancing indeed!! It's wonderful! Have you considered turning this into a pillow or cushion instead of framing it? I'd love to have something like that on a sofa. :-)
One Happy Dance for you! And I agree, your stars are looking great!!!
This is absolutely brilliant. You have done an amazing job and will be well worth the framing cost
Oh wow, your First Nation is stunning, Laura. The wording of the states is incredible and your stars look perfect. I think your idea of doing them in straight stitch is inspired.
Congratulations, what a lovely finish and your stars are great!
Beautiful finish! Congrats!
I like how you did the stars. Maybe you can get a coupon to help with framing costs.
