I worked on Gypsy Wife all last week. I have 3 sections left to go, and like to think the hard part is done. I will have to do something with the right bottom corner where I ran out of fabric. I cut strips selvage to selvage and didn't waste a lot, but some of my strips had less than 40 inches of usable fabric when the selvages were cut off. With a quilt this busy, I'm not too worried about substituting another fabric. I'm at the point where I just want this done!

What fun! So many little treasures tucked into this quilt.
I'm truly astounded by the quilt. I love scrap quilts so this is right up my alley. Now I have ideas spinning in my head!
As you say, running out of fabric won't show - and in fact it could look totally planned.

It is looking so pretty! I have this on my to do list. Sometimes stepping away from a project for a while helps though. Good luck!
What a great quilt. And, yes many treasures are shining in that quilt.
Love your colour selection - so bright and cheerful! Hang in there, it won't be long until it's finished.
Just keep going, its worth it in the end. At least thats what I told myself as I unpicked section 9 for the third time last month. Now I am at the hand stitching stage, all the hard work puzzling it out is worth it. Don't worry about mixing up your fabrics a bit, this is one quilt that can take it.
Been there with you! Ack. Loved it in the beginning, but just get 'er done now. Just so you know, your WIP IS gorgeous. You'll have a beauty when it's all done. : )

Gypsy Wife is such a fun pattern. Your's looks great!
I've never heard of or seen the pattern before. Very interesting and complicated looking. I love scrappy!
Your GW is looking great... I love your fabrics! I too felt somewhat "over it" when I was 3/4 way through, I took a little break, and came back much more enthus'ed for the last little bits! It's so exciting getting near the end! Linda
Great quilt!
I know you have had a very frustrating experience with this quilt pattern Laura, but WOW will you have something great to show for all your hard work! I hope after you have it all done and dusted that the memory of the pain will fade away, just like it does for childbirth. :)
I can really relate to just having a quilt finished. It looks great though. I love all the cacophony of this pattern and have been tempted to buy it because it is so awesome; but I think I am not brave enough to attempt it. Rather I know if I buy it, it will keep dropping down in the queue of my projects to do. Congratulations on tackling yours. It is something to be very proud of. I have an Aviatrix medallion kit bought on impulse and I fear it may linger a bit... Again, you are to be commended for such an ambitious project you will be proud of in the years to come.
