In October a friend and I made a quick road trip to an apple orchard in Charlottesville. On the way home, we stopped at a quilt shop, and I bought the fall edition of Quilts & More. Last month, I actually pieced the turkey pillow out of the magazine! Of course, I didn't get it finished in time to have it finished for this Thanksgiving. Let's just consider it 11months early for 2020.
Denise Zapf of Quilting Mojo did quilting on it for me. I think she was inspired! The pillow in the magazine has simple matchstick lines. Mine is super fancy, but I can't take any credit. I don't need to give Denise any guidance as to what to quilt. She always has better ideas than I do.

Frolic, Step Two
Step two of Frolic was super easy for me since I already had most of the red strips cut. I finished them Friday afternoon.

Other Bonnie Hunter Quilts
Tracking down all those pictures of Bonnie Hunter's mysteries the other day made me wonder how many other Bonnie Hunter quilts I've made.
Goose In the Puddle was made from old shirts. I made it several years ago but just gave it to my BIL last Christmas.
I took a Pineapple Blossom class with Bonnie at least 7 years ago. This quilt went to my SIL.
Scrappy Mountain Majesties was made from old shirts. I gave this one to my friend's father for his 86th birthday. She says it stays on his bed, and he uses it every day.
Spiderweb was the couch quilt until I replaced it with Good Fortune. This is still one of my favorites.
Talkin' Turkey is on our bed now.

Lazy Sunday was a mystery, but it was not one that was run on the Internet but in a magazine. I must have used substandard thread to bind this one because my son is forever bringing it to me to repair.

Spiderweb II went to charity. I wasn't a fan of the dark gray.
Bricks and Stepping Stones also went to charity.
Talkin' Turkey is on our bed now.
I gave Wild and Goosey to my mom for Mother's Day a few years ago.
Jamestown Landing was a retirement gift for my friend.

Frolic, Week One
I was on the fence about whether or not to join Bonnie Hunter's latest mystery, but I've jumped in again. Here is clue one:
I'm doing different colors than Bonnie is. I like her colors, but it makes no sense to me to buy a lot fabric to make a scrap quilt when I have bins of fabric sitting around. I don't have a lot of the raspberry color she is using in her quilt. I have pink or red. I chose red for the mystery because I'm already working on a pink scrap quilt. So far, I'm thinking red, gold, blue, and maybe green or gray.
I've done every BH mystery since Roll, Roll, Cotton Bowl. I kept this one.
I kept Orca Bay too.
And I kept Easy Street.
I made all the blocks for a king sized Celtic Solstice, but I ended up making 3 tops out of them, 2 lap sized and one baby quilt. I donated 2 of them but still have this one hanging in my closet, unquilted.
Grand Illusion was a big quilt, and I didn't like the colors after I got it done. I donated it to charity, unquilted.
I gave Allitere to my Uncle.
I loved En Provence. I gave this one to my sister as a reward for taking my 80 year old mom new car shopping.
On Ringo Lake went to my dad's favorite caretaker after my dad died.
I kept Good Fortune.
I also made Carolina Christmas, one of Bonnie's Earlier mysteries, but I didn't do it as a mystery, and I changed the borders. This one is quilted, but I haven't used it yet.

One Monthly Goal, December
My goal for December is to get Sedona bound. This is a Sew Kind of Wonderful pattern that uses the mini quick curve ruler.
Denise Zapf did the longarming on this one. She chose the quilting, and I am very happy with her choices. Once I get it bound, this quilt will hang in my foyer with my other red and white quilts.

Sew Many Strips Again, Top Completed
I got my batik Sew Many Strips Again quilt finished yesterday afternoon.
I struggled with the border and then ended up putting the first side on backwards. Instead of ripping it off, I improvised. My version is not perfect, but perfect enough for me. I am glad to have this one done before Bonnie Hunter's mystery starts!
I still have a lot of batiks left but not enough variety to make a good scrappy quilt.
Stash Report:

Bram Bones Top Finished
I just got the borders on Bram Bones, a Halloween wall hanging. The white inner border on mine is supposed to be two 1/2" wide borders. There was no way I would be able to get 1/2" borders straight and consistent, so I just did one 1" border. My final border is a little wider than the pattern called for too.
I don't really like fusible applique, but I used it for this project and did a straight stitch around the inside of the horseman. I am planning to have my longarmer quilt right over the top of him to help hold him down. This is going to be a wall hanging, so it won't often be washed.
Stash Report:
Used this week: 1.0 yards (Bram Bones)
Used year to date: 126.875 yards
Added this week: 2.0 yards
Added year to date: 123.625 yards
Net Used: 3.25 yards
