My favorite part is the batik border print I used as background fabric. The rest of the fabric came from my batik scraps.

Arrow Point Path
A member of my bunko group, who I see about once a month, is getting remarried. I went back and forth over what to get her for a wedding gift. I had almost decided on a gift card to a nice restaurant, but I was too lazy to go out and get it. I had a quilt here that I had made a couple of years ago that was not spoken for, so I decided this afternoon to make a label and give her this quilt instead. I was going to give it to my sister-in-law a couple of years ago, but my husband didn't like it, and I was worried she wouldn't either
I brought it over to her house, just planning to drop it off with one of her kids, but she was home, so she invite me in and opened the gift. I have rarely had anyone react the way she did to one of my quilts. She was so excited that I had made her something. She loved everything about the quilt, the color, the pattern, even the shot cotton on the back. It was like I had been reading her mind and made her the perfect gift! I am so happy I was too lazy to go and get that gift card as my friend is truly quilt-worthy. She just sent me pictures of the quilt tonight and thanked me again.

You know the most wonderful thing I love about you, Laura, is the fact you give your beautiful handmade quilts as gifts to those whom you know in celebration of those special events in each of their lives. You truly have a most beautiful heart. I am so happy this lady loved and felt so emotional about this lovely quilt. I am so happy your beautiful quilt will be loved. I would say your friend is indeed a kindred quilty spirit.
That makes it all worthwhile and the reason we gift our quilts. The appreciation is worth every moment it takes to make.
I love the batik border print you used. I've never seen a batik like that before this. Great quilt and it's so nice that your friend was so pleased.

Great quilt. Always nice when someone appreciates something that we make.
