Last week, I pulled out my yellow scrap bin and made blocks for Melissa Corey's End of the Rainbow Quilt. This is the cover quilt for her book Irish Chain Quilts. I asked for it for Christmas several years ago but have never made anything from it . The cover quilt is my favorite in the book, but there are others that I really like.
This quilt would be quick to make except that the colored pieces are all cut from fabric made of scraps. This added step slows down the process quite a bit and adds bulk to the seams, but I love the improv look of the patches.
Fingers crossed that I get the other blocks made during this RSC.

Net Added: 4.5 Yards

Your inverted star quilt is GORGEOUS !
What an unusual way to make blocks for your Irish Chain quilt. I bet it will be amazing to see when it is done. I really like your Inverted Star quilt too.
Lovely idea for your scraps. You could sew your scraps to adding machine paper as your leadersa nd Enders the the coloured strips would come together quicker. Great idea.
That's a great quilt pattern for the RSC! FINALLY! Thanks to your reminder of Melissa Cory's book I searched it on our local library site. They have it now! Can't wait to get my hands on that eye candy!
Wow!! I really love your star quilt!
