I sometimes hang quilts on my banister, and I was thinking that if I made just one red and white quilt a year, in a few years, I would have a collection of red and white quilts in my foyer. I started cutting for one, but I put the fabric away for some reason, and it sat for a long time in a UFO box. Today I finished the top!
This is a Hunter's Star quilt that I made using Deb Tucker's Rapid Fire Hunter's Star ruler. This tool allowed me to get this quilt done in just 2 weeks. (Why did I let it sit for a year and a half?)There are places where the piecing is not perfect, but I am happy with how it turned out. And I'm motivated to make another red and white quilt!
Used this week: 2.25 yards
Used year to date: 2.25 yards
Added this week: 23.5 yards (red, white, backing and aqua sale)
Added year to date: 21.25 yards
Net Added: 21.25 yards

Both your red and white quilts look wonderful!
You did this quilt in two weeks....really?? You always blow my mind with the quilts you piece together. Lots of red and white quilts resting on your banister are going to look fabulous. What an impressive entry way you have.
It's beautiful! I haven't used any of Deb Tucker's rulers, but may have to consider getting one. I love red and white quilts.
love that quilt top
I like both of those quilts. I hope it doesn't take another year and a half to get it quilted.
That Ohio Star looks impressive on the wall and the other one on the banister looks lovely too. I hope you'll take another photo to show us when you get the Hunter's Star quilted and hung. I love all the red quilts.
