On the Bright Side

I moved Summer Stars At Fawn Lake to the bed in my son's room, so I could put Jo Kramer's  On the Bright Side on my design wall. It will be 96" x 96"  when it is done, so the whole thing won't fit, but it is way better than trying to use the floor!

This quilt is made from my batik scraps and a few clearance FQs I got at the shop.  I bought the green background especially for this quilt.  The pictures don't show the color very well.  It is a minty green  batik with hints of blue.  I loved it when it came into the shop and bought most of the bolt.

I also bought my first bloc loc ruler for this quilt.  I don't know that I would attempt this quilt without it.  While flying geese aren't perfect, they are much more perfect than they would have been if I had used my regular flying geese ruler to trim.  It was an expensive little ruler, but it saved me lots of time.  I try to use all of my flying geese rulers in at least 3 projects, but I am not sure I will use this one again and may sell it after my quilt is done.

That is a tiny ruler! I just got my first flying geese blocloc ruler set. I made a quilt, 9+ years ago, and I grumbled with all the trimming of dozens of sets of flying geese. I have to teach different methods of how to make flying geese in August, so, I'll be using my new rulers.

A very fun quilt. The cool mint background really place nicely with all the other colors. It's going to be gorgeous when it's finished.
