One of the perks of working at a quilt shop is that I get to take classes for free. Saturday I took the Sew Together Bag class. I could have probably figured out how to put this bag together using the included instructions and You Tube videos that are out there, but taking a class helped a lot. I got most of it done in 4 hours.
I have made a few bags before, but I don't like dealing with iron on interfacing, zippers, sewing though multiple layers ( I broke 2 needles on this Sew Together Bag) and all the binding that comes with making a bag. Making a bag feels like work to me, not fun. I am much better at piecing quilts than making bags!

But it's so pretty...
I finally got the pattern but am not really looking forward to making it for all of the reasons you gave. However, I really want one and can't afford the prices at which they are going for. Yours came out pretty good. I like your color choices.
Love the bag! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts Bag It!
Your bag is very nicely made! I am the same way regarding bags. Bags take me a long time to make and I tire of using them quickly. I'm concentrating on quilts now - they can be used forever and can be washed.
Hi Laura - I'm popping over from Bag It - your bag looks great! I have the pattern but haven't managed to sit down and give it a try yet - it's very intimidating :D There's a sew-along blogged online that I've bookmarked to review before I jump in, but it still seems like a massive undertaking. 4 hours seems like a reasonable time for a bag that detailed - that's very encouraging!
