En Provence Progress

I've done a lot of En Provence sewing the past week and a half, but I must be much slower than most quilters since I still have a lot to go, and I've seen several people who have already completed their tops.  This week I want to get the sashing sewn.

I chose different colors than Bonnie.  Where she has purple/lavender, I have navy/blue.  Where she has yellow, I have  purple, and where she put green, I put a light bluish green.  My colors aren't showing up great in the pictures because of the light. It is very overcast here.  In person, my quilt isn't pastel!

As I was sewing these blocks together, I wondered how I ever made a Bonnie Hunter mystery  without a design wall.  I've only had a design wall for a year and a half, but it has changed the way I quilt.  I don't have to do as much ripping since I can see the blocks on the wall as I work on it, and I'm less likely to get things turned in the wrong direction.

It's looking great, and I like that you made it your own by switching up the colors. Interesting observation about a design wall, but it makes sense. Happy quilting!

Pretty almost-top! That's a great reason for having a design wall - now I'm going to get one.

It's so interesting to see how different colorways change the balance of Bonnie's quilt designs. I like your cool tones. I didn't use my design wall at all for this quilt -- I just followed Bonnie's directions and sewed, pressed, and sewed some more.

I love your purples and blues. It'll be fun to see everything pop when you add the star sashing!
I'm hoping to organize a design wall for myself this year. My design floor is getting hard on my back! 8)

Your different choice of colours seems to bring out a secondary design - I can see hearts! Lovely!

Your colors are so pretty! I don't now how some finished so quickly! I'm working slowly.

Love your color choices! I'm at quilt camp and slowly making progress on my Celtic Solstice--too much chatting and grazing--lol!

I think you're doing great – it took me months to get the Easy Street top together when I did that one a few years ago! Your colors are really pretty.

Love my design wall too! Great colours in your quilt. I guess Bonnie's colour choice is the reason for the quilt name - thinking lavender fields in the South of France! Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday!
