August RSC

I've been working on  August RSC color:  purple.  I only got five purple string blocks done before I ran out of purple strings.

I decided to make some 2 1/2 inch HSTs.  For the past several years, I've been participating in Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt, and most of those quilts use 2 1/2 inch HSTs.  Maybe this year I will be ahead of the game.  I made over 200 HSTs.

If this year's mystery quilt doesn't use this size HSTs, there are plenty other BH patterns that do.

Those are lovely prints. Do I see some scary cats? They can't scare me away from your colorful blocks. I can't believe 200 HSTs. Despite having done quite a few for the Modern HST Sampler challenge, they are not my favorite, too picky. Keep up the good work!

200 HST without a planned project? That's like having the most perfect summer peaches canned and waiting to chase winter blues away!

Your string blocks look wonderful, and whoa, that's a LOT of HSTs! What fun!

I also am amazed at your 200 HSTs, although I know they could come in handy at some point! Your string blocks are pretty! They're going to be perfect in a scrappy quilt!

I an new two stitching blocks. I can't call that quilting...yet. I like making HSTs. But I'm not sure I'd want to make them just in case.... Great purples in your strings.
