It is 91" x 91", large enough that it is hard to get a good picture of the whole quilt.
This was definitely a long term project. I started making the little paper pieced goose 3 1/2 inch goose blocks on December 17, 2014. I've come to a realization about scrap quilts: unless you are doing a controlled scrap quilt, small pieces are best. I don't think anyone would say my W&G looks like (forgive this term) 'scrap vomit' even though I did no planning. I did not purposely include or exclude any fabrics at all.
The next two scrap quilts aren't as pleasing.
Bricks and Stepping Stones would have looked better to me, if I'd used smaller pieces or a more controlled palette. It is ok, but it doesn't have that 'wow, what a great quilt' feel to me.
I chose fabric the same way for the next quilt: Gyleen's Mystery, Bricks, Cobblestones and Pebbles. Because the pieces are so big, I can already tell this quilt won't be as pretty as W&G. I have two more rows to try and salvage it.

Love your Wild & Goosey! The other's are nice, too.
I am going to be pondering your observation about size of pieces in scrap quilts. I love your Wild & Goosey, but feel as you describe about the other two designs. I have yet to see a version of Bricks & Stepping Stones that I like, so I think you might be on to something. Although the intensity of the contrast with the black and white is what I thought was a bit jarring. As I said, good food for thought. Thanks for sharing your quilts and your thoughts on them.
What a gorgeous finish! I really like your Bricks & Stepping Stones, too. It is lovely. Your 3rd quilt may not have that same WOW factor, but it is a fun quilt with all of those scraps.
Wild and Goosey is wildly beautiful. Robby's comments are very good.
Your wild and goosey is so pretty!
Wild and Goosey is gorgeous. I think with all the tiny pieces, each colour is repeated often enough (even if in different fabrics) for a kind of rhythm to emerge, and that's what makes a quilt really sing.
I saw a version of Bricks and Stepping Stones that DID have that WOW factor. It was all made from one line of fabrics, so was not a scrap quilt at all. I think it was Denyse Schmidt Chicopee, so it looked kind of scrappy, but it was pre-coordinated. The black and white blocks made it really pop.
Wild & Goosey looks great. I think you are probably right about small scraps or controlled colour choices. I am not normally a fan of srcap quilts because they often feel too jumbled and busy to me, but a restricted colour palette would probably solve that.
