My foyer would be perfect for a quilt display if I could figure out how to hang quilts on the walls. Let me know if you have any ideas. We don't have a ladder tall enough to do it ourselves. And even if we had the ladder, there is no way my husband would get on a ladder that tall. He doesn't like heights. I would have to pay someone to install the hangers. In a perfect world there would be some kind of pulley system I could use, so I could change the quilts and wash them when they get dusty. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
I'm working on a red and white quilt to hang above the banister.

You do have a lovely spot to display quilts. I'd go to a hardware store, a mom & pop kind of place with a picture or two and ask your question. I expect in a place like that they'll have one or two ideas for how to make it work. It might still be up to you to select some pretty hardware for the visible part, but I bet they can solve the 'how' part. They might even be able to recommend someone to do it for you. My other idea would be to go to a window coverings place and if it's a full service shop I'm sure they could do the actual work. Let us know if you do something, please.
Did you ask at your local quilt shop? Bet they might have some ideas.
Oh wow oh wow.....love your bannister climbing up your home with those pretty quilts showing off. =) I am soooo jealous!! Unfortunately I don't know how you can hang your quilts in the foyer. Let's hope there is someone who can help you.
Your foyer *is* perfect for display. Unfortunately I'm no help, I have all kinds of ladders and no fear of heights (or death as my partner would probably tell you) :)
A pully system sounds great. Love the quilts on the bannister.
