Whims and Fancies hosting a Trunk Full of Quilts, a link up to post your favorite quilts, After looking at all of my quilt pictures, I decided to chose my top three star quilts.
First there is Jaybird quilt's Gravity. This is one of my latest finishes, made for my oldest son for his birthday next month. I love the rainbow colors of this quilt! The instruction are excellent. It does use a couple of pricey rulers, which were a splurge for me. I will be making more Jaybird quilts since I now have the rulers and was pleased with how easily this one went together.
Next up is my orange and blue quilt. I made this quilt for my third son's bed, which we use as a guest bed when company comes. It never got used that way, though, because my oldest son moved into an apartment one summer and needed a full sized bed quilt, so he took it. I'm hoping he will give this one back to me when he gets Gravity for his birthday.
The orange and blue star quilt was a big challenge for me because I didn't have a design wall at the time, and my sewing space was in my bedroom. Every time I wanted to work on this quilt, I had to unfold the stars and lay them out on our bed. I had a hard time making sure the star points in the sashing all matched up with the right color cornerstones and that the oranges and blues weren't too close to blocks with the same oranges and blues. It took me forever to get the layout right, and I ended up with 5 blocks left over because I couldn't stand to add one more row.
Finally, here is my version of Monterrey Medallion, made in red, white and blue, and renamed 'Give Me Liberty'. This quilt was made for my middle son, who was 16 at the time, and a real challenge to parent! This quilt survived four years of dorm living and still looks great. This is the quilt that taught me to always use color catchers,

All three are really wonderful! Great job on Gravity (so many fabrics besides the rulers!) Give me Liberty is perfect!
Great parade of quilts--I especially love Gravity--awesome!!
I love the orange and blue stars! I don't have a design wall either, so I'd have had the same challenge with getting it put together. You did a lovely job with it though :)
So many wonderfully beautiful quilts in your "trunk." Love the Gravity one! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful quilts! Gravity is gorgeous, but I like those other two quilts almost as much.
Great quilts. I think being able to make quilts for your kids is a really wonderful feeling.
I'm yet to be taught the colour catchers lesson - I know one day my luck will run out, but, until that day, my colours have to fend for themselves.
Oh, my keeping track of stash depletion. Not sure if that would help me or
not. Enjoyed your star theme.
Gorgeous quilts you've shared. They all look difficult to make but Gravity is amazing.
These are all gorgeous quilts. Gravity makes my head spin just thinking about how to keep everything in order while piecing! Thanks for sharing from your trunk of quilts!
Beautiful! I love your quilting on gravity. Thank you so much for sharing.

Oh wow....your Gravity quilt packs the most wonderful punch of colour and quilting! It is incredible! You say it went "easily together"...really?? Your three quilts are stunning!!
I like the way you pictured them, very personal presentations. LeeAnna at not afraid of color
It is hard to make a quilt without a design wall but you did it. Your orange and blue quilt is fabulous. All three are fabulous. Thanks for the trunk show!
