I know that the pattern suggests pressing all seams open. I'm pressing 99% of my seams to the side. If you google pressing seams open or closed, you will find quilters arguing both ways. I recently heard a well-respected quilt teacher say that pressing seams open was 'not good quilting', Yikes! That sounds a lot like the quilt police to me.
We could also have a big discussion about steam or no steam, starch vs. best press. Non-quilters would never believe than pressing seams can be such a big point of contention.
I say do your research and do what works for you.

Haha - too true Laura. And you forgot "Prewashing or not prewashing"
I'm a big believer in "Whatever floats your boat!"
Your blocks look really prismatic and great!
I pressed my seams open for the first couple of years, until I heard why not to. I'm not the quilt police, so, whatever floats your boat is fine with me. All those things also depend on the project itself, and how it's going to be used.
Looking good partner!
Your quilt, your way! Exactly as it should be!
Your blocks are great. I always press to the side; however....when I use Jaybird Quilts patterns, I find pressing open always makes the block piece together so much better.
Your blocks look great! I almost always press to the side until meeting Jaybird templates. It works better for me to press open.
Definitely sounds like the quilt police! I press seams open out of habit, more than anything else (although I did read a lot of the arguments for and against this practice when I started out). I find it much easier to match seams and points when the seams are open, but that's just my personal preference. I don't think there's any such thing as good or bad quilting when it comes to issues like this. As long you make something you're happy with, and you haven't hurt yourself or done irreparable damage to your machine, then you pass. You've made a quilt, and the world didn't end. Right?
I've been part of the starch v. best press/starch alternative debate many times too. That's a definite personal preference matter. On the other hand, the quilt police are hilarious, and I kind of enjoy letting them rant.
Nice work on these blocks!
