Making History Top

I finished getting Swirly Girls' Making History quilt top done this week.  It was hard to photograph because it is so big, and I don't have a good place to lay it out. I made several attempts, but unless I drag the step ladder upstairs, this is as good as I can get it.

This quilt is  84x101 inches and is a combination of Martha Washington star blocks and sawtooth star blocks.  If you look closely, you will see that my inner pinwheels aren't all spinning the right way.  Too bad!  That's the way it is going to stay.

This quilt will be either a graduation gift or a wedding quilt, I think.  I anticipate a couple of family friends to make big life changes in the next couple of years, and I want to have at least one quilt ready for them.

Beautiful work. Don't you hate trying to photograph these big things? I still have a large queen size quilt from last summer I haven't blogged about because I gave up on trying to get a decent shot! It's a great idea to make a gift in advance - saves you a lot of stress when the event comes around!

How gorgeous! The blue and white made me think of my grandmother's Delft dishes, and the design is so perfect!
