It sat in my floppy pile for over a year before I saved up enough to buy the backing (white corduroy with pink, orange and red owls) and get it longarmed. I'm very happy with the way it turned out!
My major worry with this quilt was that some of the dark pinks would bleed. Many of them are scraps of unknown origin. Some of them were batiks. Since there was so much white, I decided to baste color catchers over the pieces most likely to bleed.
I'm glad I did! Look at the excess dye:
I used a whole box of color catchers for this quilt. It's probably overkill, but a box is only $4, and it beats trying to get stains off of the white parts. I was surprised that even some of the orange fabric bled a little.

Beautiful - love those borders, too! One of my fave Bonnie patterns. What a great idea to baste the color catchers.
Basting color catchers is absolutely BRILLIANT! I'll have to try that the next time I'm concerned about a specific part of a quilt bleeding. Also, it's a beautiful finish!
These colors are so yummy and congrats on finishing a ufo, yea!

What an absolutely fabulous quilt! And I will certainly be borrowing the Color Catchers basting idea. Brilliant:)
The backing goes so well with the front. Fun and bright! My kind of quilt. Great job. Yes, batiks scare me because they bleed so much. I had to find a bottle of Retayne to use on my son's batiks before I could start cutting out his quilt.
Your pineapple blossom quilt is fabulous. I love the colors. I've never heard of anyone basting the color catchers to their quilt, but it looks like it works. I have just thrown them in the washer loose. Did you quilt it? What pattern did you use.
So glad you caught all that dye - it is a gorgeous quilt.
