We have been watching the first season of Downton Abbey this week, so I managed to get in about 4 hours of stitching time on Sleepy Hollow. The trees are taking me a long time to do, and I've made many counting errors, but they are just trees, so the errors don't show.
I started stitching the words under the tomb stone, but I don't like the contrast between the linen and the letters. I may rip that out and chose another floss color. I'm not much for frogging, but what is the point of stitching 'Sleepy Hollow' if no one will be able to read it?
Last month I made a decided to rid myself of a couple of UFOs I'd fallen out of love with. Here's the post, so you can see the before pic.

I sent the blocks to a lady who makes charity quilts, and she made a beautiful top out of them. I was so stuck on the original pattern, that it never even occurred to me to just sash them. That's what Sarah did, and her top looks great.

Scroll down to see what Sarah did with the blocks I sent her.
I encourage you to pull out the UFOs that are weighing you down and send them to someone who will transform them into beautiful quilts.

Those were your blocks? Loved the way Sarah put them together. What a fun, cute quilt top. A fresh eye is usually very helpful. That quilt will make someone very happy. Good for both of you.
I have just started watching Downton Abbey and have fallen in love with the series... Love to stitch to it.
You made me smile with the errors and the trees - I totally agree.
Enjoy Downton Abbey. :D We recently finished the third season and are having a difficult time having to wait for the next season to start up. It sucks you in, doesn't it? Nice work on the trees :)
I agree with the color switch on the lettering. Not sure what I'd switch to but I think something darker so you can read them better would be a good choice. Love seeing your progress on this!
The Sleepy Hollow trees look great! I would change the color of the letters too.
I looked at your quilt blocks and then the finished quilt. What an amazing transformation! I'm sure the person who gets your quilt will love it so much.
